ALPHA® PV-READY RIBBON® (Ready Ribbon®) is a flux coated photovoltaic (PV) ribbon designed to increase through-put for companies producing cSi solar modules. Our pre-fluxed Ready Ribbon® eliminates the need for module assemblers to apply liquid flux during either manual or automated stringing operations. This virtually eliminates all the effort and costs associated with buying, storing and using a liquid flux.
Alpha uses a proprietary process to coat and cure a specially formulated flux onto standard ALPHA PV Ribbon. This flux is designed to be pliable so it doesn’t chip or flake during handling or feeding in automated Combined Tabbing and Stringing (CTS) equipment. The flux system activates at normal soldering temperatures so it can be dropped in to most current liquid flux processes. Ready Ribbon® produces a strong and reliable solder joint between the ribbon and the cell and is colorless and transparent. Ready Ribbon® is available in a variety of standard and custom sizes and spool types and is compatible with all the most popular solder alloys used to coat base copper ribbon.
